two of the original industrial bands - check out this web site that describes their stories, their releases, where they were, where they are now, discographies and more!

I quite enjoyed reading these histories. I found myself nodding in sympathy a bit to the Third Door From The Left story. I think lots of us have been in bands that never got more than a handful of gigs but at the time should have gotten more attention. I was curious to know, though, are there any plans to re-release some of that early stuff? There's a bit of appreciation for that ultra-early industrial/post-industrial sound, as your EBay anecdote shows. Maybe time for a cdr re-release?

most certainly. There is more of a problem releasing third door stuff than we be echo stuff as I have to work things out with Raye (the other half of TDFTL) He's keen on re-releasing face the firing squad though and will be either sending mysterymike the original master tape to mix to digital or will be doing it himself (he's a sound engineer, so it should turn out well!)
Keep checking back - we're going to release that and anything else Raye has as soon as we can.

Third Door From The Left and webeecho to be released.
by lwaa » Tue Jun 03, 2008 2:41 pm
vinyl-on-demand.com will be releasing an album by webeecho in mid 2008 - it is a compilation album of re-mastered tracks previously available on cassette. The release will be a strictly limited edition, on heavy vinyl. For members of Franks VOD club, there will also be a bonus 7" ep available with the album.
Later this year, VOD will also be re-releasing Third Door From The Left's Face The Firing Squad classic on the same high quality vinyl, complete with a reprint of the booklet that accompanied the original cassette.
I'm not sure if everything's going to be available to the public or if some things (eg a poster with the TDFTL release) will be for VOD club members only. Check out their web site for full details.
Towards the end of the year (just in time for Christmas!) I hope to be able to release more webeecho songs on CD through MysteryHearsay. Stay Tuned.

it's been a long time, but this weekend, I thought I should re-do the Third Door From The Left site -- it needed it, and I wanted to play around with iWeb! Check it out:
http://www.tdftl.com
I also included an RSS feed for cassetteculture.net on the links page, so you can see the latest entries on this site there.
There will be changes, I'm sure -- and updates. Raye's info needs to be added, but he's out of country right now.
I hope to be able to include the podcasts that Mike put together there too.
